Here’s some new watches to consider for fly fishing the surf, surfing or just being on the ocean? I personally have an old waterproof Nixon watch that I see the tide on everyday and it just makes me smile.

Cool. I’ve killed many watches, including surfer and dive watches that were waterproof. I finally purchased a reconditioned Rolex Submariner from a jeweler friend in L.A., which didn’t leak until 12 years later because I failed to have the gaskets replaced every five years, as instructed. (I won’t do that again!)
I was wondering if I ever told you that I was a craftsman working for a custom manufacturer for mall amenities in L.A.? I eventually ran their clock and public art division. Huge clocks, including the ones over Tiffany & Co entrances worldwide, and post clocks like the one in front of FAO Shwarz in NYC. We made free standing clocks in Del Amo Mall and Glendale Galleria back in the day. Anyway, I love clocks and watches, especially when reliable function matches form. (I used to make miniature screwdrivers by pounding and filing finish nails to disassemble my mother’s broken watches. I couldn’t fix them at age ten, but loved to figure out how they worked. Haha.)
Cheers, mate!
