Taper & Tunny is a really nice short video on my old buddy, Tom Dorsey of Thomas & Thomas. It is shot in Montauk, Long island and has some neat footage of false albacore during the fall migration. The boat the video is shot off of, is captained by another old friend, Capt. Paul Dixon, who is one of the pioneers in flats boat style, sight flyfishing around the fabled waters of Montauk. Hope you enjoy. Click here!
Shit. You keep sending me reminders of good fishing days in the brine with these recent posts. (I’m a bit landlocked here.) So glad I got to fish here offshore…recognizing the lighthouse even before reading the story. That was the last time I fished with my wife (she got a nice Blue on a spinning rod). I think I got seven Albies. There were dozens of boils in the colliding currents off the point. We put out from CT and watched the sunrise with Capt. Sandy Noyse. Great memory! good stuff, Timm. it’s a special place every fly fisherman should experience at least once…
