Sweet tie Al! Are you using Fish-Skull™ Senyo’s Articulated Shank for the mantle? If not, how/what?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

      glenn:
I am using the fish skull articulated shank in the largest size. I am wrapping the shank closed after attaching the hook portion of the squid to it,
this will insure that the shank will not open under the pressure of a large pelagic fish. hope this answers your question…

Thanks Al. I do a lot of long range fishing and we “ring” our own live bait hooks using a small butane torch, silver solder, and stainless steel rings. Depending on the articulated shank material, that approach could apply and guarantee the eye wouldn’t open. We might be able to do some other creative things too :). I need to tie up some squid patterns for those fall yellows. BTW, I go by okiplug on fliflicker. See ya, Glenn
