Very interesting. We all knew the BFT in local San Diego/Mexican waters has been on the decline over the years. However, 2013 was arguably the best BFT fishing for the San Diego fleet in decades. Probably due to the warmer waters and migration pattern of the fish. And quotas on the seiners. Albacore has already not been present in San Diego catches for the past 3 years, seems like BFT is headed to the same fate unless stricter limits and enforcement comes to pass.
