another fun day in long beach…

Just wanted to thank everyone again for being so giving and kind in joining us in our grass roots effort to perpetuate saltwater fly fishing off our local beaches. The day was filled with great information, talented instructors, enthusiastic participants and volunteers and it was FREE! It was a day of mentoring and hopefully you all made a few new friends and fishing buddies. Can’t say enough about Ken Yoshihara and Chum, Ken’s music was mellow and pretty, and CHUM, well let’s just say they blew the doors off the Long Beach Casting Club. They were awesome! Here’s a few pics to burn into our memories. Hope to see ya’ll on the beach for the One Surf Fly in Huntington Beach on April 27th. Tight Lines! -Al Q

Q, Was fishing at Will Rodgers in our club surf fishing derby with Wicen. I meet a fly caster who had a Valdez fly stuck in his hat. I asked him and it turns out he was at the show on Sat and was friends with Bernard. He did not catch anything on the fly. Wicen and I scored big time on the sand crabs. I got 4 and he got three perch over 12 inches. My biggest bogaed at 2#9oz. Conditions were tough. I also met a guy and saw his picture of a perch with a lucky craft in its mouth next to a tape that went 17 inches. He got it in Hermosa on Sat morning. Great Double Haul. Had a nice talk with Janet and Quinn. Thanks for putting it together. See you soon.

Al looks like you hosted an amazing event. I wish I had been able to attend.I know many of the attendees and participants. Had to cover the shop Sat. I will make sure to attend next years event. Note: John Dietch was the fly fishing coordinator for the movie “A River Runs Through It”.

Al; Your vision and passion ( You Italians!) has created an event that has refreshed this industry. We need to figure out the agenda next year that will keep ” The Mojo Goin”. Each year needs to be a bit different so we do not get stale. A fabulous day with fabulous people and I could not be prouder to be a part. Your friend, Jim
