Bob Popovics receives the Isaac Walton Award from the American Museum of Flyfishing in Edison NJ

I wish I could have been there but circumstances kept me on the West coast. I guess I was there in spirit when I was asked by my friend Andy Mill to write a few words which he read before the 200 plus audience. I know Bobby had to be smiling down with all that love in the room. He was a good friend and mentor to me when I first started out in saltwater flyfishing. We fished, tied flies and had many great adventures on and off the beach. I will miss him dearly! Please click here for the full story recap on The Average Angler blog.

  1. Any chance of doing another run of the fleye shirts? Maybe give the proceeds to a group Bob would have wanted to support?

    I know I’d grab a Beast shirt!

    • the problem with shirts is you have to carry all sizes and end up warehousing them. I can’t afford to do a run of shirts in all sizes for a few people that want one?
That’s why the embroidered hats made sense, the sizing was universal. If I do a shirt it will be in one size and I will do a small run?
