Please join me and MCI Casting instructor Jim Solomon at the Orvis Pasadena Fly Shop on Saturday, February 1st (10:30am to 2:30pm) for a master class on making your own custom shooting heads. We will supply the special running lines and Rio T-11 shooting head for each guest. We will instruct how to connect the two lines for optimal performance. We will cover a few knots, loops and braided loop connections too. (YOU NEED TO BRING AN EMPTY FLY REEL WITH BACKING AND 8WT ROD) We will load up your reel. We will take your new shooting head system and demo the best way to cast them for maximum distance. This is the way we like to fish in California and around the world when we have to go deep or go long off the beach. Great for reaching those hard to get to areas just out of casting range.
